Roy

𝗥𝗢𝗬 is a short film about loneliness, loss, and the unexpected ways connection can bring us back to life. Directors Tom Berkeley and Ross White wanted to explore grief in later life — and how even in our quietest moments, hope can find its way through.

Trapped in a lonely existence, reclusive widower Roy (BAFTA winner David Bradley) spends his days cold-calling strangers from the phone book. When he accidentally reaches Cara (Oscar® winner Rachel Shenton), an adult hotline worker, an unlikely friendship begins — one that helps them both rediscover the joy of living.

Written and directed by Tom Berkeley and Ross White, Roy premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was later longlisted for a BAFTA. Produced by Bryony Pulizzi, the film is a heartfelt and humorous reflection on love, loss, and human connection.
